Please read this before you rely on the detector.
A finding aid, not a guarantee
The NotWatched wireless signal detector helps you look for devices that transmit radio signals, spot camera lens reflections and notice strong magnets. It does not and cannot guarantee that a room, vehicle or space is free of hidden cameras, microphones, trackers or other devices.
Known limits
- Non-transmitting devices: cameras and recorders that only store footage on a memory card, or that are switched off or transmitting only occasionally, may not be detected by the signal meter.
- False alarms: phones, Wi-Fi routers, smart TVs, Bluetooth devices, cell towers and other electronics also transmit and can trigger alerts. A strong signal doesn't mean you've found a hidden device.
- Lens finder: reflections from glass, screens and shiny surfaces can look like a lens, and some lenses may not reflect visibly.
- Magnetic mode: reacts to many ordinary magnets and metal parts, not only trackers.
- Range and sensitivity depend on the device, its signal strength, walls and other interference. Figures we publish come from the manufacturer and are approximate.
Use it responsibly
Use the detector only in places you're entitled to be and in line with local laws. Don't damage, open or remove devices that aren't yours. If you believe you've found a hidden device, document it, report it to the property owner, platform or police, and leave if you feel unsafe. In an emergency, call 911.
